I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at University of Nevada, Reno. As a biological anthropologist I have specific interest in modern human growth and development and human variation, their application to forensic anthropology, and the application of rigorous and appropriate quantitative methods.

Web Apps/Software, Data, and Databases
KidStats and KSCollectKidStats uses the newly developed Mixed Cumulative Probit to estimate age from diaphyseal dimensions, epiphyseal fusion, and dental development. It is currently available to use with a United States reference population, however seven additional countries will be incorporated.
KSCollect is a data entry program for subadult data (diaphyseal dimensions, epiphyseal fusion/appearance, and dental development). It will eventually be linked to KidStats though it is currently a standalone data collection interface using the standardized protocols available on the SVAD Zenodo Community. |

United States - Subadult Virtual Anthropology Database |
Subadult Virtual Anthropology DatabaseThe Subadult Virtual Anthropology Database (SVAD) is housed at the University of Nevada, Reno. The database is comprised of computed tomography images and radiographs of individuals between birth and 20 years of age as well as all the derivatives, including diaphyseal dimensions, dental development, epiphyseal fusion, vertebral neural canal dimensions, and segmented surfaces. Data is freely available at the SVAD Zenodo Community. Some images are also available for research but interested parties need to contact Dr. Kyra Stull ([email protected]).
The SVAD was developed because of federally funded projects (National Institute of Justice 2015-DN-BX-K409 and 2017-DN-BX-0144 and National Science Foundation BCS-1551913) and our wonderful collaborators from numerous institutions. |
